What is Satori Meditation?
Satori means it’s a glimpse of light, blissfulness, and ecstasy. It’s a process of turning inward to realize the self and be in your natural state with ultimate truth. The basic formula to experience Satori is to “drop all beliefs, and the real will arise”. In a day, you get several thousand thoughts in your mind. Just start witnessing your mind as a passing cloud. Once you start witnessing, you can begin to find the gap between each thought. This helps us to be in the present moment and not get carried away with the past or future.
Being present helps us to be calm, relaxed, and gain clarity. The more you witness, the greater the gap between your thoughts. In this long gap comes the Satori experience, the natural state of happiness, and oneness with creation. The ultimate truth of existence is experienced. To feel the inner experience, one has to understand the body and the mind.
The soul needs a body to gain the maximum experience of inner truth. It’s one’s responsibility to be physically relaxed and fit. That’s why it’s very important to enter into spiritual understanding from a young age. The mind needs to be free from physical and mental attachments to experience the natural state of being. Greed, ego, arrogance, and jealousy have to be totally overcome, as all these are barriers to realizing the self.
We all take birth on this planet Earth to dissolve our impurities and attain the self. That’s the only intention of this birth, nothing else. To experience this true wisdom, one needs a Guru. A Guru is the bridge and the guide to attaining wisdom and realizing the self. One has to surrender completely to the Guru to feel the Satori within. The external world should not take away the Satori within you.
Satori is the gateway to Samadhi, and one should be very careful and alert to sustain the Satori experience.
